Summer Play Group: Week 2

This week was hosted by Gretchen and the theme was Summer Olympics.  We had six different activities and they all rotated in groups.

  They are holding up their "torches"...popcorn filled ice cream cones.

I was glad my dad was there!  He watched Lane for me☺

This was the funniest event to watch.  They had to eat a cookie tied to a string without using their hands.

They all got a medal, and a little trophy.

A Horse is a Horse, of Course

Today was an adventurous day, and I couldn't fit any more kids in my van if I tried.  We spent the morning riding horses at one of my former student's house.  Thanks Jessica New for allowing us to bombard you with our crew!!  The kids had such a great time!

They each took turns riding one of the horses, except Lucas.  He wouldn't try it.

They got to feed and brush the horses.

We completed our day with a trip to Pluto's Hot Dogs and the library.

It was a super fun day!  I love summer!

Summer Play Group: Week 1

I had an idea a few months ago to organize a summer activity group so the kids could get together to play with friends and have an organized activity.  This was the first week and I signed up to do the first one.  Since my boys loved doing the volcano experiments so much I decided to do that for my activity.  We made lava lamps, volcanoes, and did mentos/coke explosions. 

Lane got passed around all morning, but he didn't mind.
