Logan Findlay Basketball Season

This was Logan's second year to have the opportunity to play on the Findlay Basketball team. Last April a law was passed that allowed homeschool children to be able to play on public school teams.  When I found this out, I was ecstatic.  This was Landon's hangup about homeschooling.  I remember a conversation we had before Logan started school.  We were discussing which direction we were going to go with education and he said, "What about basketball?"  My response was, "What if he doesn't even play basketball?  I don't play so he could take after me."  Landon looked at me like I was an alien.  He confidently said, "Of course he is going to play basketball."   Then I reminded him that he wouldn't be able to play for several years anyway so we should try homeschooling.  We were beyond thrilled that the doors were now opened.  I felt like it was an answer to my prayers because I was beginning to question if I was doing the right thing since he loves basketball so much.

At tryouts I was a nervous wreck last year.  I know some may be against it, so I was afraid of how others were going to react.  I was worried that he wouldn't have a fair tryout.  Then when he made the team, I was worried how others would treat him since he doesn't go to school there.  When I went to talk to Mrs. Crouch, our superintendent, about what all I needed to do for him, I was so overcome with thankfulness and many emotions I cried in her office.  I felt like a real idiot.  haha.

All the worry was for nothing.  We have had such a wonderful experience.  Mr. Alspaugh was supportive, the coaches were fantastic, and Logan has had the opportunity to make many new friends throughout the two years playing.  It has been a great experience for him, and I am just so thankful that he has gotten to play.

I took a few pics of him in the gym.

Homecoming Pep Rally:
Mrs. Girdley texted me and told me that Logan had been nominated for the 5th grade Homecoming attendant.  I busted out laughing when I read the text.  How in the world did this happen?  He doesn't even go to school there.   He didn't even know what it was when I told him.
Kristy Abell and I taught at the high school together and were pregnant at the same time with these two.  They are a month apart.
