Boy's Summer Ephesians Bible Study

Landon has been talking about starting another D group (Discipleship group) again with a small group of men.  He has led two different groups over the last few years and he was feeling like he should start another one.  I had been talking to a Trish and she had recently finished a girls bible study out of her home in the spring.  It had gone well and there was a great turn out with girls that really had a desire to learn the Word.  She mentioned to me that she wished Landon would do a study for boys like that one.  We discussed different possibilities for studies and she mentioned Tony Merida's study on the book of Ephesians.

That evening, I mentioned the idea to Landon and he was open to the possibility.  To give another nudge I went ahead and ordered three copies of the study for him, Logan, and Lucas.  I laid them by his bible study nonchalantly when they arrived hoping to encourage the study.  He laughed when he saw them there and he set it up.  I'm so thankful he did because the turn out has been fantastic.  It's not just about numbers at all, but it has been wonderful to have all these boys in our home learning from this incredible letter about their true identity in Him.  Oh, how I wish I could have learned this lesson at this age.  I know I'm biased, but Landon is just amazing all around.  He is a great teacher.  He can relate well to kids, and he's just lots of fun.  It was a blessing to him as well.

This was a blessing and encouragement to me as well even though I was just in the background helping out.  It was a lesson to me to not worry about my house being perfect because boys don't really care anyway.  We have lots of construction and projects at our home right now and I just had to let it go that it was kind of a mess outside where they were playing.  The Lord is revealing my need to show more hospitality and letting go of the need for it to be perfect before that can take place.  We would have missed this otherwise.
