Girl's Trip to Cape Cod

This summer we went on a girls trip to the same locations we went the year before last.  The last time we went, the weather ruined our trip and we didn't really feel like we saw the area well in the rain.  We learned many things the first time, so it made this trip easier to plan.  First we flew to Boston, rented a car, ate dinner, and drove to Hyannis.

Our hotel was a perfect location for this trip because we were in walking distance to the ferry and to many shops and restaurants.  We stayed at the Hyannis Inn.

Our first day we went to Nantucket.  It is just so pretty it's difficult to capture fully.  The entire island is so well-kept and charming.  I would walk around and look at people who lived there and wondered, "Is this for real?  Do you people really live here?"  :)   The flowers were more in bloom this year than the last time we visited.  It was so beautiful!

We rented bikes and it was quite an adventure.  It was more challenging to maneuver through the traffic so we ended up taking them back and doing a tour on a van.

We ate at the most charming and delicious restaurant called The Chanticlier.  I want to go back!

The next day we went to Martha's Vineyard.  We had a tour scheduled that morning that took us around the whole island.

The next day we had planned as a flex day in case it rained either day on Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket we could return to one of those places.  It ended up being beautiful weather both days so the next day we went to Salem and did a Witch Trials Tour.  The weather was in the 50's and it felt like fall.  It was perfect
Before we went to Salem, we had breakfast in Hyannis at The Original Gourmet Brunch.  This place is worth going back to Hyannis alone.  It was incredible!

This is the house from "Hocus Pokus."

Our last day we drove around to see beautiful homes in Hyannis, including the Kennedy compound.  We also went to Plymouth Rock on the way back to Boston to fly home.  It was an incredibly cold, windy, and drizzly day.  We were so thankful for the good weather all the other days for this trip.  We won't take good weather for granted again.
